APD Forward Advocacy Training

Do you want to the see meaningful reforms and a culture shift at the Albuquerque Police Department? Are you concerned about the ongoing consent decree with the Department of Justice? Come learn how you can make a difference in our community at the APD Forward Advocacy Training!

With changing administrations at the local, state, and federal level, we are at a critical juncture in our community and we need to make sure our leaders hear from us loud and clear.

This advocacy training will provide you with the tools necessary to advocate for constitutional policing. You’ll learn about the existing consent decree with the Department of Justice, up to the minute updates on reform efforts, and will get a clear idea of how to plug in further–we’ll cover the upcoming Mayoral Forum, Community Policing Councils, City Council meetings, phone banks and letter writing campaigns, and upcoming legal observer trainings and Know Your Rights workshops.

Trained advocates will leave with a deeper understanding of the reform efforts and will have a knowledge base that allows for critical thinking on police reform. Space is limited so please RSVP today!
