Your senators need to know that you stand behind their efforts to keep Attorney General Jeff Sessions from undermining police reform. You can call them using the suggested script below to thank them for signing onto a letter in defense of consent decrees like the one in Albuquerque that hold police accountable to the reforms they need:

Good afternoon, my name is _______ and I am a resident of Albuquerque.
I’m calling today to thank Senator (Udall or Heinrich) for signing onto the letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions questioning the Department of Justice’s review of police reform consent decrees.
I’m also calling to urge the Senator to demand a response to that letter that was delivered in April of this year. I am very concerned that the Department of Justice is not upholding its end of the bargain when it comes to the consent decree with the Albuquerque Police Department and we need the DOJ to be a zealous advocate for the reform process.
APD has had a culture of aggression for decades that led to unconstitutional uses of force when there is no accountability.
Our city deserves a police department that is committed to constitutional policing and that protects the rights of civilians, and I am asking Senator (Udall or Heinrich) to communicate to the DOJ in the strongest terms possible that the citizens of Albuquerque demand reform of our police department.
